The screenshot is significant because it carries Leidig’s own byline and records an assignment he later came to regard as an example of a flawed older style of entrapment journalism: offering money to poor Roma families might create the appearance of a child-sale market without proving whether the families would ever have acted without the financial inducement, or whether they genuinely intended to give up a child at all.
