Google Alert In Craig Silverman’s CEN Story Review Sequence

This document is a 13 January 2015 Google Alert received by Craig Silverman containing the CEN-linked Austrian Times headline “Gentleman Tries To Bite Tortoise, But Tortoise Bites First”. It is included in the Source Library as source/evidence material connected to the BuzzFeed/CEN case and the later examination of how BuzzFeed’s published sample of CEN stories was assembled. It records what the book identifies as the last Google Alert in this sequence before Silverman shifted to looking for CEN material through client publications rather than only through CEN-linked sites. It is relevant because it helps mark the end of one phase of Silverman’s search through a wider pool of CEN material, much of which sat outside the final 41-story sample used by BuzzFeed to support its published fake-news percentages.
