This document is a 23 April 2015 BuzzFeed email in which Richard James forwarded his earlier request to be removed from the CEN mailing list to Robert Colvile during BuzzFeed’s final checks before publication. It is included in the Source Library as source/evidence material connected to the BuzzFeed/CEN case and BuzzFeed’s disputed claim that it was no longer a CEN client or subscriber. It records that Richard James had asked only to have himself removed from a mailing list, rather than cancelling BuzzFeed’s access to CEN material or raising a substantive problem with the feed. It is relevant because it helps document the gap between BuzzFeed’s public position that it was not a CEN customer and the internal evidence showing that BuzzFeed had received, used and continued to investigate CEN material as part of its own editorial process.
